For sale is my upgraded Hong Nor Ultra LX2 Buggy.

* 1/8 scale.

* 2.4ghz Hong Nor radio system.

* 16mm “super bore” shocks with threaded bodies for accurate adjustment.

* 4WD.

* Cab forward design shell for improved downforce.

* Hard coated chassis/centre diff mount & front steering top plate.

* Fuel tank with intergrated fuel clips & internal fuel filter.

* 14t Clutch bell

Now onto the interesting parts that set this particular buggy out from the other LX2 buggies you may see!

* Engine is still running in, and has been properly tuned and set up by a proper racer/modeller using the correct heat cycle method to run approx 250°f – Goes like stink, As an example i drag raced this car against my cousins HPI Pulse, and even though this is only a .25 engine compared with the pulses .28 unit this car was just as quick if not a bit quicker – that’s how good the O.S engines are!!!!! Please don’t think i’m selling this car because the engine is knackered – becuase it’s NOT- it’s got loads of life left in it and really is a terrfic engine that has always held a good tune!

This car comes not with the normal .25/.28cc Force engine as specced by Hong Nor, But with an O.S XZ MAX .25 turbo Race spec (NOT an RTR Job!!!) engine mated to a JP4 tuned pipe that has been tuned to run on 25% Nitro. Now to those who don’t really know much about RC cars & accessories this won’t mean much, but fire up the buggy and you’ll soon realise WHY i got this Engine & pipe combo to go with this buggy – WHY, Because it flies!!!!!!!! The O.S .25 engine was designed as an “inbetweener” for those who wanted the greater fuel economy that .21 engines provide whilst giving the extra power & torque of a larger cc engine & it shows, Below are the specs for this engine taken direct from OS’s website:-

SPECIFICATIONS
Stock Number: OSMG2080
Displacement: 0.25 cu in (4.1 cc)
Bore: 0.689 in (17.5 mm)
Stroke: 0.669 in (17 mm)
Practical rpm: 4,000-39,000
Output: 3.06 hp @ 33,000 rpm
Weight: 13.1 oz (370 g)

Other modifications to this car include

* UJ’s all round, No more lost driveshafts and greater drivetrain efficiency! (standard cars have Dogbone rears.)

* CNC front steering knuckles taken from the X1/X2 CRT PRO, the standard “cast” type are MUCH weaker (I broke one 1st time out with this buggy as an example!), But since upgrading to CNC knuckles NO breakages have occured & the CNC knuckles are an expensive seperate item to buy now!!!

* Answer RC Vented 14tooth clutch bell (allows better cooling to the clutch assembly!)

* Upgraded “long life” Red anodised aluminium clutch shoes (instead of the soft carbon items that wear quickly)

* JP4 tuned Exhaust pipe (gives greater performance all round with a focus on Mid to higher RPM punch!)

* All diffs stripped and cleaned of the standard grease and rebuilt with proper silicone Diff oils 7k front,12kMid,5k rear if i remember correctly giving a slight bias to the rear!

Add to this a small spares package that include:-

* Spare (unused bodyshell with graphics pack!)

* Spare (used!) chassis plate – Always handy to have a spare as a back up – just incase!

* Spare high torque metal gear servos (power HD servos!)

* Spare (new and unused!) Hinge pins & E clips plus holders/braces, Spare radio tray, Spare front bumper, Spare front & rear Chassis braces, Spare front upper steering plate, spare bell crank/steering arm assy, Spare upper & lower front & rear A arms/suspension legs and anti roll bars.

Comes with original box, Instruction manuals for both the car and radio gear, & Fuel bottle!!

Anyone who buys this car will not be dissapointed by the way it goes & handles and this would make an ideal 1st car for those contemplating maybe getting into racing these cars!

As can be seen from the photo’s the original body has seen better days, but there IS a brand new unused one ready to go when you decide to finally call it quite on the old one (you’ll just need two smal velcro strips to fasten the body down onto the side/mud gaurds & it will also require a small amount of trimming here and there to clear the exhausts “stinger”, but you may also want to trim away to allow easy access to the Receiver switch and to clear the Manifold too (you’ll see that the old body has been cut away in these areas for these reasons!) As for the Chassis Plate on the car it is BRAND NEW, as are the side/mudgaurds so you’ll be starting from fresh with new or nearly new components practically throughtout, I have always cleaned the car after every run, the bearings have been checked & replaced as needed after every run aswell, The engine has been treated with afterun oil too – basically your getting an almost new car, But one that’s better by quite a way than the standard LX2 you would maybe have bought from your local RC shop!

As for price then i’d like to think the price is fair considering:-

The O.S engine is still fairly new (hasn’t even seen 2 gallons!) & still has some “pinch” and loads of compression (it’s genrally recommended that you swap out the Conrod after about 2 Gallons to prolong engine life!), and when you also consider that this engine (when new) was OVER £200 on it’s own! you’ll understand just what great value this is, and that’s not allowing for the spares package, the CNC front steering knuckles (these can cost upwards of £30 on there own!), and also the JP4 pipe which would cost in excess of £50/£60 too, then you should easily see just what a total bargain this package actually is!

Due to Size & weight of this entire package this will be STRICTLY collection only, I will NOT post it – so please don’t ask!

I would prefer cash on collection, but will also accept Paypal natrually!

Lasly all you will need to run this car will be:-

1) Starter box (the os engine is NOT the the pullstart/roto start type and as such requires a starter box to spin it over!)

2) Glow driver to initially ignite the fuel!

3) 25% Nitro fuel (I’ve personally always used Optifuel!)

4) 4x AA batterys for the receiver (or better still a proper “hump pack”), but you would need a dedicated charger for this!!!

Aswell as this you will need to get hold of some spares that are considered “consumables” on these cars and it WILL require regular checks to ensure proper operation & healthy long-term running, It would be adviseable to keep spares of the wheel & clutch bell bearings, Larger inner Diff bearings (less common but they do still go eventually!) and the smaller “outdrive” diff bearings, also a small toolkit and spare screws/nuts etc would be adviseable and regularly check the screws over for tighteness! Lastly a small bottle of “medium” strength loctite for the wheelnuts is adviseable too! Please understand this IS NOT a toy, it WILL require regular maintanence & looking after, but treat right will give many hours of pleasure and service!!!!!!

Please do NOT mistake this for the MUCH older Ultra LX1, This buggy has only been out for a few months, & is a newer/better design with a few “hop-ups” added to further improve on the standard platform!!!!

Thanks for looking!
